Café Rakka opened in March 2008 in Hendersonville, Tennessee, and features a variety of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes based on centuries-old family recipes, each prepared fresh to order.
This cozy, comfortable restaurant is fast becoming a Middle Tennessee favorite, serving signature dishes with flair! During the summer, an outdoor patio awaits those patrons looking for an alfresco dining experience.
Come try old favorites like Hummus, Baba Ghanoush, Falafel and Tabbouleh, and sample new dishes such as Shish Tawook, Lahm-Ajeen and more. A full range of appetizers, entrees, specialty salads and sandwiches, desserts and beverages awaits!

Another Successful Appearance at the Nashville Farmer's Market in November!
Chef Rakka was the featured chef for the first Sunday Chef's Demo at the Nashville Farmer's Market on November 22, 2009. To help people get ready for their holiday parties, Chef Rakka demonstrated how to put together a delicious hummus bar with all the fixings, including olives, roasted pine nuts, garlic, and many more toppings. Of course everyone loved the samples, which were served with Chef's wonderful freshly baked pita bread!

Chef Rakka was delighted to appear on Fox 17's Tennessee Mornings Show a few weeks ago! Charlie Chase and Kelly Sutton were "in the kitchen" with Chef as he prepared his delicious version of Eggplant Moussaka (download the recipe here if you'd like to try it at home!).
The hosts also really enjoyed Chef's very special and unique Mediterranean red tea, made from the flowers of a plant that only grows in certain areas of the desert in the Upper Euphrates valley, and reputed to have good health benefits! Chef Rakka prepared his very special Ancient Lamb Shawermah dish! (Click here to watch the segment). The lamb or steak is marinated in a mixture of olive oil, herbs and spices, and can be grilled on a Himalayan salt block (salt blocks can be purchased at Cafe Rakka). Other menu items featured on the show were the Chicken Korma and Chef Rakka's delicious and delectable rice pudding. Click here to access the recipe!
Chef Rakka Supported The Big Swim
The Big Swim for a Little Fighter was held in Hendersonville, Tennessee on May 29th to raise funds for Trace Kimler, a seventh-grade at Ellis Middle School who has been diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, and the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.
Cafe Rakka donated their proceeds from Saturday, May 30th to The Big Swim for a Little Fighter. More than $15,000 was raised for this wonderful cause!
